First impression I love this book's comedic approach to the aspects of dating later in life and I've had plenty of actual laugh-out-loud moments while reading the entertaining & informative chapters of the book. It's an easy read that will feel like hanging out with an old friend, rather than reading yet another self-help book, which is exactly what is needed at this stage of a person's life, when he/she feels like their once-stable world has fallen apart at the seams.
Even though this book is obviously written for a person around 20 years older than myself, I still found it easy to relate to most of the advice that was given. Maybe it's the fact that I was forced to grow up at an early age, that has provided me with this more mature perspective and outlook on life. I could see both of my parents described in certain parts of the book as well, and it has opened my eyes to the difficult times they have faced throughout the years. Mr. Brook is extremely "real" with his readers and not afraid to tell it like it is, which is a refreshing style to use for a book of this fashion.
I really enjoyed the chapters containing examples of real experiences that people have had with online dating. Some of them were harmlessly amusing, others deserved a wide-eyed 'WTF' moment, and a few were just downright disturbing! Overall, it's an incredibly useful tool in getting back out into the dating world, with confidence and perseverance in your mission to find happiness once again.

A Humorous Take on Dating Over 50!
My hats off to Author, P.A. Brook for being real when it comes to being single over 50!
I was happy to receive a copy of this book by the author for an honest review. And boy did I enjoy these well-written musings but solid advice in the book. Loved the authors writing style and have to commend him for even taking on such a topic of being single and entering the "dating scene" after 50 because of the many new "options" one can find a date these days.
I don't like spoiling a fabulous book, and even though I am in my 50's and happily married?
I highly recommend this book to everyone to enjoy!
As for those who read it that ARE Married? You will be even happier YOU ARE! Lol. Loved It!
"Cat Lyon's Reading & Writing Den"
I laughed out loud 3 times and giggled 5 times in the first 25 pages so I knew I was in for a treat. Gone are the days when personal ads had a stigma. Having swam in the pool of online apps after my divorce, l found this book was perfect for someone to understand that you need to approach online dating with the right attitude and fun. If you take it all too seriously it can be hard because as the author describes, you can go on a date with someone different every night of the week, but you need to accept the fact the it is rare to get a good match so you just have to enjoy meeting new people. The author is a great story teller and the book is a fun and quick read. To those who are part of the online dating scene remember.. Success in online dating is to not need online dating anymore because you have found your perfect match!
I was asked to read and review this book. My first impression was ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME??? Well I found out that this book was really a great read, and it is a great guide for both Men and yes Women as well, who find themselves in this situation; over 50 and single. This is a fantastic guide, although tongue in cheek, to getting through the stages of getting back into dating. I found myself laughing out loud, saying to myself "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??" Serial dating and all the pitfalls of online dating. Oh wow. This book is great. I Loved it. There were some really great quotes, " Empathy breeds compassion, which breeds understanding". "Trying to connect the dots". "How did I get here?". " It is a Process". An absolute gem of a guide to getting back in the dating game, and not making all the stupid mistakes along the way up and out of the rabbit hole. I actually found that there were over 95,000 sex toys out there on a site like ! Fun and just finding yourself. I did not find "Candy; oh well I need "Candy Man"!
Fantastic book!! I purchased the book last night and couldn't put it down. It is funny and insightful!
So many entertaining stories...hard to put the book down...being single and in my 50’s I totally related to the stories and the author’s experiences. Have recommended it to my single friends who also agree.
